Dinosaur Ride at Animal Kingdom to Be Replaced by Encanto and Indiana Jones

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is getting ready for some major changes as DinoLand USA closes to make way for a new “Tropical Americas” themed land, with experiences from Central America and the northern-part of South America.

The DINOSAUR ride will be closing, replaced by an Indiana Jones ride. The ride layout of the Dinosaur ride is the same as Disneyland’s Indiana Jones Adventure, making it an easy swap. Fans of the The Dino Institute and the search for the mysterious Iguanodon will be sad to see the ride go, and the area will be missed. TriceraTop Spin will also be closing.

In addition to this new Indiana Jones ride, the land will also feature a brand new attraction based on Disney’s upcoming film Encanto. The area is currently in development and an official opening date has yet to be announced, as well as what other attractions and experiences will be included in the land.

The area is expected to also include a large interactive play area with immersive activities, along with restaurants and shopping opportunities. Guests will have plenty of chances to explore the unique culture from that part of the world, making it an exciting new addition for Animal Kingdom.

Other recently announced changes to Animal Kingdom include Zootopia coming to the Tree of Life Theater, replacing the long-running It’s Tough to Be a Bug show, based on It’s a Bug’s Life.
