Zootopia Replacing It’s Tough to Be a Bug at the Tree of Life Theater

Zootopia will officially be replacing the Disney-Pixar’s classic film It’s A Bug’s Life at the Tree of Life Theater in Disney World. This much loved theater, located inside Animal Kingdom Theme Park, originally opened its doors in 1998 with the 3D film, It’s Tough to Be a Bug. After almost 20 years, the theater has decided to switch up its lineup, replacing It’s A Bug’s Life with Zootopia.

The movie swap is part of a larger effort by Disney to keep its parks and attractions fresh and exciting for guests. Since opening in 1998, Animal Kingdom has been steadily growing and gaining new features, such as Pandora – The World of Avatar, which opened in 2017. Zootopia is just the latest addition to this ever-expanding list of attractions and features, along with a host of others recently announced, such as Encanto and Indiana Jones replacing DinoLand USA.

While the opening date hasn’t been released, these changes will replace “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” and the “Dinosaur” ride in DinoLand USA, both rides that have historically frightened young children with its 4D “surprises”. The installation of Zootopia at Tree of Life Theater is sure to entertain and inspire guests, as well as give a fresh start to the theater.
